Kwai Fong Estate Community Connection Carnival
「The Community Connection Carnival 」will invite NGOs from neighbourhood to participate to promote community connection and their vision and mission during the Carnival. In addition to the booths of NGOs, the event also features booths introducing the design of Kwai Fong Estate under “HAppy Family • Colourful and Fun Estate Project”, youth performances, and booths of HAppy Green Family.

Happy Family Fun Run
As a highlight activity of the WELL • BEING Estate Festival, Happy Family Fun Run will gather residents at Sha Tin Sun Chui Estate where participants will take part in a 3-km run near the Estate and along the Shing Mun River. After crossing the finish line, participants are welcome to take photos with the gigantic squirrel mural painting at Sun Chui Estate, capturing the memorable moments of the Fun Run with the Squirrel.

Let’s Workout
Using the public spaces and fitness facilities in the estate, different workouts/physical exercises are organised to cater for residents of different ages, and they can all find suitable ways to work out and be healthy.

Green Repair Cafe
Household Appliances Repair: Promoting green living and sustainable lifestyles, residents can bring household appliances to Repair Cafe for repairs, such as electric fans or water boilers. We hope to raise the residents’ awareness on sustainable practices by providing accessible and environmentally friendly means.

Plant Therapy Workshop: Plant Therapy (also known as Horticultural Therapy) can improve physical and mental well-being of the participants, through different healing horticulture activities. Participants can relax with different plants during the workshop and create their own glass terrariums with moss and other plants.

HAppy Green Family
Introduce the greenery of the estates to the residents through various games and explain on the greening work of the estates, as well as promote green living.

Reimagining Playspace
Turn the estate public space into a playspace filled with joy and happiness. Games and different activities are brought to the community and allows families and kids to have a wonderful time.

Playroom@Estate
It will help create a new level of awareness and meaningfully engage the children and parents within the public place in the Estate. Children and parents will work together to not only create artwork but also work on puzzles and share memorable stories about their estate or Hong Kong.
Art Workshop – Participants will draw on a paper to visualise their ideal Estate. After that they can use recycled materials, such as old newspapers and magazines, to create cutouts and 3D models to beautify the masterpiece!
DIY Puzzle – Participants will use recycled papers and cardboards to create their own puzzles about the Estate!
Sharing Experience – People can share their experiences in the Estate or share memorable stories about Hong Kong that they have heard from other families or friends as well, uncovering more about their living space and living in Hong Kong.

Estate Culture Cycling Tour

Through the Estate Culture Cycling Tour, participants can gain an in-depth understanding of the public housing estates’ rich history and unique culture. The tour combines an energetic and cultural experience that allows the participants to learn while enjoying the cycling journey. They will explore the history and architecture of different estates and our tour guides will share the unique stories that have shaped their community. Residents of the estate will be the tour guides, leading the participants and show you around the estate. Each selected iconic estate has its own special story, culture characteristic and atmosphere.

- Mei Lam Estate – Explore the estate design that received the HKIA Annual Awards (Certificate of Merit).
- Sun Chui Estate – Visit the twin-tower modern architecture design and fountain inside the shopping mall, as well as the “HAppy Family” estate beautification project.
- Chun Shek Estate – Experience the wet market that combines modern designs with architectural style of traditional temples.
- Sha Kok Estate – As part of the early urban planning in Sha Tin district, Sha Kok Estate’s history and community stories are worth-sharing, such as that of Shatin Martins Baseball Team.

Up-cycling light crafting workshops

Residents of Yue Wan Estate will repurpose the old utensils collected from their homes to create up-cycled lamp shades alongside local designers and craftsmen. These lampshades will be displayed in the main corridor of Yue Wan Estate.

Butterfly Estate Mural Painting
In collaboration between Link and local artist Carmen Ng, the activity will engage the Butterfly Estate residents to create a mural on the wall of the 5-a-side soccer pitch with the theme of butterfly metamorphosis.
Recruitment for Happy Family Fun Run
Established under the JC Fit City programme by the running group RunOurCity, the activity brings together running group members for regular training sessions to prepare for the Happy Family Fun Run Event. The group shall continue beyond the fun run event until July 2025 and cultivate regular running habits for residents in Sha Tin. Participation is free for this activity.

- The running groups are weekly recreational running events
- Free running courses will be given to the running group members, including 4 sessions of trial classes and 8 sessions of basic classes.
